In just under 7 weeks, it will be 80 years since a nuclear weapon was used in war. Since that time, a total of 9 countries are known to have produced nuclear weapons. Some have engaged in cold war with each other, and some have engaged in hot war with each other without using their nuclear arsenal.
Is it reasonable to assume that even IF Iran developed a nuclear warhead they would deploy it? Or would it be akin to other countries who use it as a Big Stick to negotiate or even threaten others? Or would it be akin to a security blanket, or a last resort? Now we'll never know.
80. Years.
I'd hate to see 80 years of global restraint fall by the wayside because one man, or a small group of men, seek to stay in power at any cost. Netanyahu. Trump. Miller. Take your pick. None are fit leaders, none are worthy of our time or attention let alone worthy of potentially shaping the future.
If you support this man, these men, be it on your hands. When Iran retaliates, that blood belongs to your glorious leader, who could have done the easiest thing in the world to prevent such an outcome - nothing.
As for me and mine, we stand for peace, not war. I don't want war as a thing. I don't want to lose my children or anyone's children to the horror and absurdity which is war.
Shalom Aleichem.
I also advocate peace. Why should there be war? Every time there is a war, civilians are harmed.
